Minimum of Java version 1.6 update 25 or higher to use Business Online

Dear Business Online user

You require a minimum of Java version 1.6 update 25 or higher to use Business Online on Microsoft Windows platforms, however we recommend an upgrade to the latest Java software version. Visit www.java.com to download the latest version of Java.


Should you encounter issues after downloading the latest version of Java the below steps should be followed.

Steps to Clear Java Cache

    1. Click on “Start” on your Windows toolbar.


    2. Select “Control Panel”


    3. Click on “Java”

    4. Click on View, under the General Tab Temporary Internet Files.


    5. The Java Cache Viewer will be displayed


    6. Select all Business Online applications and delete by clicking on the red X


    7. Click on the dropdown list for the "Show" category, select “Resources”.


    8. Select all Business Online resources and delete by clicking on the red X


    9. Click on Close.


    10. Clearing of Internet Browser cache (Internet Explorer)

    11. Restart your machine

Should the problem persist, contact your system administrator as the caching could be on the proxy server.


Appendix A

Internet Explorer 7

  1. From the Tools menu in the upper right, select Delete Browsing History...
  2. To delete your cache, click Delete files...
  3. To delete your cookies, click Delete cookies...
  4. To delete your history, click Delete history...
  5. Click Close, and then click OK to exit.

Internet Explorer 9 and 8

  1. Click Tools, and select Delete Browsing History…
  2. Deselect Preserve Favorites website data, and select Temporary Internet files, Cookies, and History.
  3. Click Delete.



  1. From the Safari menu, select Reset Safari...
  2. From the menu, select the items you want to reset, and then click Reset. As of Safari 5.1, Remove all website data covers both cookies and cache.


  1. From the Tools or History menu, select Clear Recent History.
  2. If the menu bar is hidden, press Alt to make it visible.
  3. From the Time range to clear: drop-down menu, select the desired range; to clear your entire cache, selects everything.
  4. Click the down arrow next to "Details" to choose which elements of the history to clear. Click Clear Now.
